Facciotti and Brown Crowned Future West ACU British Supercross Champions
Another year for British Supercross is in the books! The 2007/2008 Future
West ACU British Supercross Championships wrapped up this past weekend at the
amazing O2 Arena in London. A enthusiastic crowd cheered on the best of British
Supercross for last event of the season. The talk of the weekend was the amazing
new O2 Arena and hot Supercross action.
In the
Pro Lights class, CAS Honda’s Mike Brown broke out to an early lead riding the
Honda CR250f for the first time in Supercross this year preparing for the start
of the outdoor season next week at Hawkstone Park. Canadian Dixon Yamaha
teammates Colton Facciotti and Jean Sebastien Roy would enter the event
separated by only three points. Brown jumped out to the early lead and never
looked back with JSR and Facciotti in tow. Facciotti only need to finish behind
JSR to claim his second British Supercross Championship title of his career. JSR
would give it his all ending the Lights on Brown’s back tire. South Africa’s
Neville Bradshaw would round out the top three in the championship
chase.
The
Pro Open final was set for another CAS Honda Brown win. Brown who looked
comfortable on the 250f would again get another great start leading the pack and
started to pull out a sizeable lead
before 19 year old Kyle Beaton of
Canada jumped in behind Brown and
started to up the pace. At the half way point lappers started to become issue.
Beaton seized the opportunity and made the pass on veteran Brown. Once passed
Brown Beaton didn’t let up and claimed a sizeable victory over Brown for Yamaha
UK and Dixon Racing. Brown would claim yet another British Supercross
Championship title. Jean Sebastien Roy would take 5th in the pro open
main and second overall in the championship while teammate Facciotti would take
third on the night and in the overall standings.
Along
with the pro racing titles were also decided in the Clubman and Youth
classes. In the Auto’s it was young
Tommy Schofield taking the championship over Jamie Clark and Alfie Mountford. In
the 65’s Tom Neal claimed the Championships only 3 points ahead of Scooter
Webster and Alfie Bowtell. In the small wheel it was James Dunn who took his
first British Supercross championship ahead of Daniel Clark and Bradley Ward.
Ross Clarke captured the Big Wheel 85 title 10
points ahead of Luke Norris and Ben Reed. Norway’s Per Kristian Bakke claimed
his first British Supercross title ahead of TM’s Lewis King and Ryan Potenger.
The Clubman lights saw Carl Jones way out front of Harry Bertram and Vincent
Cossard of France. In the Clumbman open it was South African Mark Atkinson who
climbed from dead last off the start to Championship winning position on the
night ahead Clubman Lights Champ Carl Jones and Supercross Veteran Danny
Blakely.

LONDON'S RED HOT SUPERCROSS TICKET
With only a week to go ticket sales are moving
fast for the final round of the Future West ACU British
Supercross Championships. Tickets are not the only hot item, the
competition will also be red hot for the final round at The O2
Arena, London on Saturday February 23rd. Former British Supercross champ,
Relentless Suzuki's Lewis Gregory is all set to race at London after
missing Liverpool with a pair of tweaked wrists sustained while training in
Spain which were originally thought to be broken by Spanish
doctors. Gregory has been in the gym for the last few weeks determined to
be back in the saddle at London. Newcomer to British Supercross, Canadian
Kris Foster broke a toe at Liverpool on the Saturday night after taking a
spectacular win in Friday's Pro Light's main event will be back at
London. Another "First time Canuck" and head to head specialist Lee Coutts
from Vancouver British Columbia is hopeful for London after cracking a
bone in his right hand at Liverpool. Pro Open points leader and
current British outdoor champ Mike Brown of CAS Honda is rumored to be
riding a 250f in the open class at London in preparation for the outdoor
season which should make things even more interesting. Canadian crowd
favorite Kyle Beaton will make a return to British Supercross for the
first time since Cardiff in 05. Beaton will be back aboard
a Dixon Racing YZ250f taking advantage of a break in the US West
Coast Supercross series where he has been competing since claiming the
Pro Open and Pro Lights Canadian Arenacross Championships. Riding alongside
Beaton on Dixon Yamaha's will be fellow countrymen Colton
Facciotti and Jean Sebastien Roy who are first and second
in the Pro Lights British Supercross standings as well as Dixon's
newest signing South African David Goosen who opened more than a few
eyes at Liverpool.
Canadian Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Brock Hoyer
will make his British Supercross debut at The O2 London riding a DK
Offroad Kawasaki in both Pro classes. South
African Neville Bradshaw will be hoping to get back on the podium as
he did at Liverpool onboard his MXW Honda. Also returning to the series is
Norway's Per Kristian Bakke who made the finals in the Pro Lights
class both nights in Liverpool. The British contingent will be headed by
former British Supercross and Outdoor champ Carl Nunn riding a SUSO
Motovision Suzuki. PAR Homes Honda rider Ashley Greedy, currently 3rd
in the Pro Open points standings and destined to be one of the Supercross
stars of the future will be back to try and grab the bucket full of cash in
the head to head racing as he did at Liverpool which had the fans on there
feet. Other notable brits include Nigel Arnold KTM's Luke Remmer along
with other KTM riders Carl Brogden and Bradley Turner. It's a night
not to be missed as the next event will not be until October the 25th at

HEAD TO HEAD BECOMES A PERMANENT FIXTURE AT BRITISH SUPERCROSS
Supercross fans were treated to something new at
the inaugural Merseyside Supercross event last month. The overwhelming
popularity of British Supercross's first "Head to head" halftime
elimination competition at Liverpool has convinced the guys at Future West
to make it a part of the evening program at The O2 Arena,
London next Saturday and a permanent fixture for next years
series. "We were not sure how the fans and riders would take to it,
but when I saw the fans on there feet on Friday evening at Liverpool as
Ashley Greedy and Mike Brown mixed it up it was obviously a
hit and a welcome additional for the fans." says John Hellam of Future
West. "You know people are really into it when they start a pool with there
friends on who will win the head to head, if I was a betting man I would
have lost a fiver as my pick was out in the first round, that's the beauty
of it any one could win a one lap race. We experimented a bit
by running one lap on Friday and two laps on Saturday and
decided that one lap was more exciting, so one will be the standard from
now on" added
Hellam.

LIVERPOOL SUPERCROSS A HUGE SUCCESS
Future West
are extremely happy with the inaugural Liverpool British Supercross event.
Crowds flocked to the brand new Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday and Saturday
January 24th and 25th. Friday's crowd as expected was half full with a near
sellout on hand for Saturday racing action.
Despite certain media
reports the event was very popular with loud fans and incredible racing action.
Friday night saw the very first British Supercross Championship head to head
competition which had the crowd on their feet. Several top British riders were
in attendance including US rider and CAS Honda superstar Mike Brown who rode to
convincing wins on Friday and Saturday night in the Pro Open finals. Suso Suzuki
former British Champ Carl Nunn made his Motovision debut and looked great. Also
in attendance were Canadian Colton Facciotti who rode to the win in the Pro
Lights on Saturday night as well as King of Canadian Motocross Jean Sebastien
Roy who made the podium both evenings. Rising British Supercross Star, PAR Homes
Honda rider Ashley Greedy made himself known friday night by collecting the cash
in Friday's dramatic Head to Head competition. South African MXW rider Neville
Bradshaw also rode well after returning from injury.
Not only did the
pro's put on a show for the fans the youth and clubman classes also produced
some top notch racing.
All in all a fantastic first trip to Liverpool. On
to London and The O2 Arena for the final round of the 2007/2008 Future West ACU
British Supercross Championship. Tickets for The O2 Arena event can be purchased
on 0871 984 0002. For more info on the Future West ACU British Supercross

The British Supercross Championships at Echo Arena Liverpool.
The Future West and Auto Cycle Union British Supercross Championship Round 2
& 3 at Echo Arena Liverpool
Excitement, versatility and dynamism; three words at the epicentre of Capital
of Culture year and never has this ethos been better presented than over two
nights at The Echo Arena.
Gone were the seats, the stage and mixing desk from the floor area, replaced
with tons and tons of dirt so that bikers from as young as six and upwards could
demonstrate their skills at high speeds and with alarming agility.
The punishment the riders must take as they hit bumps and ramps at speeds of
up to seventy miles per hour must be colossal, and the ability to remain upright
requires such concentration it almost beggars belief, as was shown when Lewis
Chapman was taken out of the Youth Championship when a back marker cut through
from the top tier of the track and inadvertently crashed into him.
"Excitement, versatility and dynamism"
This was a night of high-octane thrills and spills that was warmly welcomed
by the 6,000 plus crowd of Liverpool, for the first time.
Magnificently staged, the atmosphere was at a revved-up maximum, as Mike
Brown hurtled around the track on his Cass Honda to win the Pro-Open class event
with two bends and a high flick of his bike over the Treble jump to spare.
Other highlights included the Head-to-Head event, which also won Brown a pot
of £645 of change donated by the crowd, and 9 year-old Tommy Schofield winning
the Auto’s final.
These were two truly wonderful nights of entertainment that must surely be
repeated on an annual basis.

BRITISH SUPERCROSS DATE AND VENUE CHANGE
Future West Promotions
have moved the final round of the ACU British Supercross Championship to the
brand new state of the art The
O2 arena nestled
inside the huge Millennium Dome in London. Originally planned for Wembley
Arena on March 1st the event now moves to The O2 arena on February 23,
2008. The move from the scheduled Wembley Arena comes after a clash with
the annual Hawkstone International event after the Hawkstone event changed
its date.
"It has been a
lot of work to move the date and venue but The O2 facility is second to none. I
was amazed when I visited The O2 for the first time. The arena is first
class with features we have never seen in an arena. The O2 arena has more
seats which is a good thing as the last event we held in London back in '99 at
Earls
Court was packed to the rafters with 10,000 plus
spectators." says Future West's John Hellam.
The O2 will
have approximately the same amount of seats as Earls Court. Outside
the arena you will still be under the huge tent which has
been transformed into an entertainment area. Entertainment
Avenue, encircling the arena features numerous restaurants and bars
plus a multi-plex cinema with 11 screens as well as an exhibition hall
which is hosting the Tutankhamun Pharaoh exhibition. Everything is
inside out of the weather under the huge dome. The O2 has its
own subway and bus station plus access to central London by boat with acres
of parking and easily accessible from the M25. If that's not enough the whole
complex sits right next door to the David Beckham Football Academy.
Tickets for the
final round of the Future West ACU British Supercross Championship will be
available in the next few weeks, please stay tuned to www.fwsx.com for more
details. Rounds 2 and 3 of the series are set for the brand new Liverpool
Echo Arena on the 25th and 26th of January. Tickets for Liverpool are available through the Liverpool Echo Arena
box office on 0844 8000 400

Future West ACU British Supercross Championship set for Liverpool.
Over the last decade or so the Future West British Supercross Championship has touched down in Britains largest cities and most of the countrys premier venues, bringing Supercross to most regions of the nation. Liverpool with it's rich sporting history would have been a natural destination for Supercross except for the fact there was nowhere suitable to hold an indoor event of this size, not until now that is.
On January 25th and 26th the newly constructed Liverpool Echo Arena will come to life with the long awaited sound and sights of motorcycle racing known as Supercross. If you have not visited the musical capital in a few years you are in for a big surprise. The rejuvenation of the former Albert and Kings dock area into one of the hottest tourist destinations in the country is nothing short of amazing as is the the new waterside arena and convention center - home to this milestone event. Anyone who has attended a Supercross event already knows there is something for everyone young or old from dancing girls to bike giveaways to light shows to getting an autograph from the international star riders, not to mention brushing shoulders with a soap star or two. Every seat in the house is a good one you can see everything from any seat in the place no mud, no rain, no cold weather to worry about it's civilized, civilized that is until the riders take to the track when all civility evaporates in the heat of the battle for the chequered flag where national championships and a lot of money is at stake.
Unlike most British Supercross events Liverpool will be a two night affair catering for the many who plan to make a mini holiday of the weekend with lots of other day time and late evening activities including visiting some of the nearby musical attractions, pubs, restaurants and hotels that are plentiful around this tourist haven. You can even take a ride on a amphibious tour craft which will take you on land and sea, actually it's just around the harbour and through the city streets. After the races are over Liverpool's night life and its legendary musical venues will be just starting to rock. For ticket info call the Liverpool Echo Arena box office 0844 8000 400 or visit www.fwsx.com

Important Rider Information - All riders & parents please read.
Firstly, good luck to all riders heading to Sheffield for the Supercross this weekend. Emma & Shane will be running the Race Schedules & Rider charts and Waiting Zone again, so please take notice of the following advice to keep everything running smoothly for both you and us!
* Please ensure your race numbers are clear. If they are considered difficult to read or unreadable, the lapscorers may not be able to classify you in a race result.
* Those with a duplicate number to another rider must ensure they know what number the officials have given them at signing on and ensure their bikes are properly marked, or you may not be called into the waiting zone correctly.
* Actual Schedules for RACES & RIDER GROUPS will be prepared by us and displayed on a notice board near the waiting zone or public area. There is normally a Race schedule in the programmes, BUT ALL SCHEDULES are subject to change, so please DO NOT follow these blindly, watch what is happening and keep checking the board.
* The Race Schedules are NOT TIME BASED and therefore you WILL NOT be able to judge when you will be called up, races may flow quickly, or incidents may hold us up, keep checking the racing.
* It is the responsibility of riders to know what groups they are in and the race order (From the schedules), Please do not keep asking officials, keep an eye on the notice board, races on track & waiting zone group so you know when you are going to be called up!
* When your session approaches, head to the waiting zone area but DO NOT block the entrance. If you’re required you will be called forward by me or an official into the waiting zone. (Blocking the entrance may stop a rider entering his race and nobody wants that for any other rider)
* Practice is the most hectic time of the day and is often a first come first served basis, NOT GROUPED, so be prepared and be ready to be called up. We also have the option to run the maximum riders we are allowed on track to save time, so 3 qualifying groups may be squeezed into 2 practice groups.
* Qualifying gate system is by “picking a peg” when being called into the waiting zone for gate choice. Numbers in the waiting zone will be set up to correspond to peg number picked. Line up neatly and WAIT with your bike.
* There is to be NO ENGINES RUNNING whilst in the waiting zone. Any engine warming is to be done BEFORE enter the waiting zone, but do not wait too long to enter because if you are called to the gates you obviously forfeit your gate choice.
* ONLY WHEN WE SIGNAL, are engines allowed to start and riders BIKES PUSHED to the start gates.
* UNLESS otherwise instructed by an official, NO Parents or Mechanics will be allowed through to the start gates. (Previously ONLY AUTO Parents have been allowed, but is unconfirmed for 2007).
* Security will be on the entrance to STOP ENTRY by any unauthorized person; this includes riders not with a bike and heading to the gates.
* Please do not leave bikes balanced in the waiting zone. Not only may you miss your gate choice due to not being present, it is unsafe and any bike seen leaned against fences will be removed from the waiting zone.
* The waiting zone officials have no control on reviewing results.
* After Qualifying, the system for gate choice is based on qualifying race results.
* If you are entered into Back-to-back races such as 125’s and Open classes, we can not change schedules but will wait for a short period of time. PLEASE let me know before your first race, so I know to send you straight through to the gate for your second race.
I think that’s the basic advice over. I know many may have done it all before and it’s the same things, but you’d be surprised how many people try to forget the above. If you have ANY questions relating to the general running of the races, by all means send me a private message through the http://www.mxtrax.com system before Thursday and we will try to respond. Otherwise, Good Luck and Enjoy it!
Cya there
Shane & Emma

MAKING WAVES AT SHEFFIELD
Britain being the island nation it is, is used to having things washed up on its shores and receiving waves of every conceivable kind with Supercross riders being no exception but the tide is about to turn in Supercross to almost tsunami proportions.
Over the last decade it has usually been a US rider standing at the top of the podium at Sheffield. This could well be the case again this year with the likes of Mike Brown, Jeff Alessi and Jason Thomas all going for it alongside the crazy Canucks. The Canadians have also been on the top step a good few times and could be again this year with Colton Facciotti, Jean Sebastian Roy, Ryan Lockhart and Doug Dehaan all competing.
For the first time a young home grown talent is ready and more than able to turn the tide Tommy “Moses” Searle could not only stem the tide of foreign dominance in the pro ranks but could turn it completely in the other direction.
In the past, the Supercross world has seen French, South African, Aussie, Costa Rican and a Kiwi all take US Supercross titles. Tommy Searle is set to lead a British invasion by being the first Brit with all the right “stuff” to make the journey to the top of the World Supercross ladder when he heads stateside in 09. November 3rd at Sheffield will mark the start of Searle’s pro Supercross journey.
Tommy Searle is not the only British lad set to take on the Americans at Supercross. “Maximum” Max Anstie, not yet old enough but already fast enough for the pro class, has won every race he has entered in British Supercross in the schoolboy classes and is blessed with the same kind of skills, talent, determination and backing that Searle enjoys. Anstie will also eventually be heading in the same direction as Searle by crossing the Atlantic in the near future. The US however are preparing for the Brit invasion and are still producing young riders such as up and coming Logan Karnow of Ohio. If you believe the US aren’t taking the British threat serious then think again. Karnow is coming to Sheffield to compete against Anstie and check the wave for himself, giving fans a sneak peak of what the future holds in the US. The Karnow – Anstie battle could be worth the admission alone.

RIDER LINE UP - SHEFFIELD SUPERCROSS - NOVEMBER 3RD, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND
SHEREN OUT - DEHAAN IN
As November the 3rd and the first round of the Future West ACU British Supercross Championship draws ever closer, the impressive world class rider line-up will see the addition of another Canuck to the line up. Doug Dehaan of Ontario, Canada who rode for the Butler Brother's US Supercross/Motocros team in 2007 will be racing aboard a PAR Homes Honda at the opening round of the Future West ACU British Supercross Championships. Dougy D will be replacing fellow Canadian Brady Sheren who broke his wrist last weekend testing and preparing for Sheffield. Sheren will be out for at least 6 weeks but will be back in time for Anaheim 1 in January.
"It's too bad for Brady I know he was looking forward to coming to Sheffield, it would have been a great experience for him, fortunately we have a long list of other riders who want to come and Doug Dehaan was at the top of the list. Doug should have never been on the reserve list in the first place, he deserves a much higher rung on the ladder. We had already commited to soo many riders and when Doug called me originally there just wasn't any space left for him". says Future West's John Hellam.
With an amazing list of riders lined up to compete the qualifying action will be as intense as the finals with only 10 riders going on to the main event. Tickets for Sheffield are moving fast. To get your tickets now call the Sheffield Hallam FM Arena box office at +44 (0)114 256 5656. For more info on the Future West ACU British Supercross please visit www.fwsx.com

JSR Interview
To his Canadian fans he is known as J S R “King of Canadian Motocross”. With 5 Canadian National MX1 titles to his credit Jean Sebastien Roy (J S Waah as it’s pronounced) is considered to be one of the favourites heading into round 1 of this year’s Future West ACU British Supercross Championship on November 3rd at the Hallam FM aren in Sheffield. The likeable French Canadian rider had the time to answer some questions following his 2007 season and about his trip to Sheffield this year.
Name: Jean Sebastien Roy (JSR)
Hometown: Acton Vale, Quebec, Canada
You have had a very illustrious career in Canadian motocross including Arenacross and Supercross in Canada and the US. What has kept you motivated and winning over the years?
Well, I’m not sure!! I guess the fact that I was doing really good down in the US and I was getting better results year after year. It's easier to get going when you do so well. Winning Canadian championships always was a challenge. Each year, different riders from the States came up and raised the bar. I got a lot of motivation from those guys!
How many titles have you captured in your career as a professional motocross racer?
Professional? I got a few titles here in Canada and I got some “Top Privateer” awards in the US. I also won some Canadian National Championships in the amateur ranks but that's a long time ago, I’m not to sure exactly what year!
You obviously have no trouble transferring from outdoors to indoors with wins in the UK at Dublin and Belfast Supercross events as well as good results at past Sheffield events and US Supercross. How do you prepare for indoor events as opposed to outdoor National events?
First thing I change is my practice track. I build more jumps on it and make it shorter. Training wise is quite the same, lots of riding and testing and of course, practicing starts.
Throughout your career you have traveled the world including all across Canada, the United States and Europe. Off track how do the UK cities differ from the cities of your home province of Quebec in Canada?
Well, it's quite different in the UK. The cities are soo old and the architecture is awesome! I really enjoy traveling over in Europe for that reason. I'm the kind of guy who likes looking at that stuff. Barcelona was amazing too! I 'm looking to spend more time this year over there than previously.
You have been over to the UK numerous times now for different Supercross events. Can you tell us what makes the British fans unique?
The British fans are loud and very respectful!!!
The Canadian Motocross Nationals are now starting to gain exposure around the world including here in the UK and in the US with them being shown on the Extreme Sports Channel in the UK and Speed Channel in the US. Do you enjoying watching the races at home and do you get comments from fans around the world about the series?
For sure! It's a great thing for us Canadian riders to have our series televised around the world. It’s fun to have comments from foreigners who have been watching the series overseas or in the states. Most of the comments are very positive.
Your long time team in Canada, Blackfoot motorsports recently switched from Honda to Yamaha. Tell us a little bit about the change in machinery and also about being a part of the most successful and professional team in Canadian motocross?
I would need more than just a few lines to tell you the full story but overall the change went really smooth. The Blackfoot team is awesome! ALL of the guys in that team put a full effort into their jobs and they make my life easier too!
Tell us a little about how your 2007 Canadian outdoor season went?
It was a bit of a weird season. A couple of guys DNF’d some motos, including me, and a few new guys won some motos as well. We had some nasty weekends weather wise with muddy tracks and some real good ones. I was riding real fast and smooth the whole time but a crash during practice put me out for 2 rounds and I ended up finishing 5th.
Last year you were unable to do any off-season events including the Montreal Supercross and the Motocross of Nations due to having surgery. What was the injury and what are your plans for this year’s off season?
I had to have shoulder surgery last year. This year is a different story, I plan to race MX Des Nations, Sheffield, maybe Bercy, Barcelona, Geneva, Dortmund and maybe one more in Germany. Those are my plans for now but I'm interested to do some more races overseas if the offers come.
Between Mike Brown, Tommy Searle, Jeff Alessi, Colton Facciotti & Jason Thomas who do you think is going to be your toughest competition at Sheffield this year?
I think all of these guys will be going for the win. They are all good riders. For sure we are going to put on a good show for the UK fans.
What are your plans for 2008?
(Laughing) Ride dirtbikes!
Thanks for your time and we look forward to seeing you on November 3rd at Sheffield!

SHEFFIELD SUPERCROSS - DIRTY JOB BUT SOME ONE HAS TO DO IT!
There is a lot to be thankful for if you are one of those lucky people who love your job and even more thankful if that job takes you around the world. If that same job allows you to get paid for playing in the world's largest sand boxes and it just so happens that you have been a motocross nut and racer all your life then DIRT WURX USA's Rich Winkler must be one of the luckiest guys in the world.
Rich's reputation for building tracks that are graced weekly by the world's very best Supercross stars has involved a lot more than good luck. Winkler's knowledge, love of the sport and the ability to turn a pile of dirt into a work of art has led to the establishment of the biggest business of it's kind, anywhere in the world. Not only does Dirt Wurx build all of the AMA Live Nation Supercross tracks, they also construct Live Nation's hugely successful Monster Jam Monster truck courses. Along with Supercross and Monster Truck events, Dirt Wurx are also involved in several other special international events including the November 3rd Sheffield Future West ACU British Supercross track. For the second year in a row, Rich and his right hand man Cory will once again be hard at work shaping the near perfect Sheffield dirt into a world class Supercross track. When invited back this year by Future West's John Hellam Rich replied, "Yes definetely, we really enjoyed the experience last year. The dirt at Sheffield was really good and the people were great." Hellam remarked, "We are really pleased that Rich is coming back again this year. We have already ordered more dirt than last year as Rich's tracks need more dirt than we have used in the past. We intend to run a loop outside this year.
Tickets sales for this year's Sheffield event are moving fast as fans seem to be buying early. Tickets and registration are available on www.fwsx.com

New Blood at Future West
Following the recent press release from Future West Promotions announcing the dates for the 2007/2008 series, and the long term agreement with the ACU for the British Supercross Championships, Future West Promotions are pleased to announce the addition of a full time sales and marketing manager to the Future West British Supercross Championship Team.
Tony Cording joins Future West after a successful 25 year career with Yamaha Motor Canada in sales and marketing. Tony originally from London, has been a strong supporter of the Canadian Arenacross Championship series from it's inception, participated in outdoor events with his family, and is well known and respected throughout the Canadian motorcycle industry. Tony recently made the jump to event promotions joining Jamie Hellam in the newly formed Nex Trax Motorsports Entertainment who have taken over the Canadian side of Future West events so that John Hellam can focus his energy on the British Supercross Championship.
We welcome Tony to Future West Promotions, he brings with him in-depth expertise to this position and wide knowledge of the sport.

Bright Future for British Supercross
Future West is pleased to announce its upcoming British Supercross provisional schedule for 2007/2008. This year’s schedule will see the addition of two new venues. The three venue, four round series will fire up at the home of British Supercross the Hallam FM Arena in Sheffield on Saturday the 3rd of November marking its 11th consecutive year. Rounds two and three will be held at the brand new Arena at ACC Liverpool. The ACC Liverpool is a major landmark on the newly developed King's Waterfront complex
and will open for business in January 2008. Supercross will be one of the first events to be held at this outstanding new venue on Friday and Saturday the 25th and 26th of January. The final round of the series will be held at the newly renovated Wembley Arena in London, arguably the most historic Arena in the UK.
Future West’s John Hellam had this to say. “This year will be the start of long term period of stability for Supercross in Britain. We have entered into an exclusive long term agreement with the ACU, we are now experiencing great cooperation between our two organisations.” “Last year’s Sheffield event was ACU sanctioned where we worked closely with both Roy Humphrey and Dave Williams. The event ran extremely smooth and developed a good working relationship for the future. This year we feel that we have three of the best venues in the country with ample space between each date to avoid over-saturation." Hellam added. The series is officially backed by the ACU and will be inscribed on the FIM International calendar and will crown ACU British Supercross Champions in all classes.
With long-term stability in place for the British Supercross Championships Future West are very enthusiastic. “Expect to see the best available Supercross riders from all over the world racing alongside the UK’s very best up and coming riders. Our long term commitment to our youth and amateur riders will continue as they are key to a successful future.” Comments Hellam. Last year saw record entries for Sheffield with over 300 riders. Regs and ticket information for this year’s series will be available in early June.
Sheffield tickets are now available through the Hallam FM Arena box office on 0114 256 5656. For any companies interested in commercial opportunities please log on to www.fwsx.com and send us an email.
